It is often said, “you don’t know what you have until it’s
gone.” We here at Zombie vs Shark felt every bit of that statement on the day
of August 11, 2014. The loss of actor/comedian/philanthropist Robin Williams
has been felt around the world, and more than a week after his death, the pain
and shock of the event has not subsided in any way. Sure, eventually we will
move on, we always do. Many already have and for others it will take a long
while. Today, ZvS is Remembering Robin Williams.
With a career that spanned over 30 years, Robin managed to
touch many people in a lasting way. Whether he made you laugh or cry, he always
seemed like he was right there with you. He played characters that you could
relate to, that could make you think, that would make you pee your pants from
laughter.
Beyond all that, he was heavily involved in many charities.
Such as American Foundation for AIDS Research, Christopher & Dana Reeve
Foundation, Dogs Deserve Better, Muhammad Ali Parkinson Center, St. Jude
Children’s Research Hospital and UNICEF; just to name a few. Here, he gave
perhaps the most of himself, he gave his time.
Yes, Robin Williams was a great entertainer, but he was also
a great person. He will be missed.
"I started doing comedy because that was the only stage that
I could find. It was the pure idea of being on stage. That was the only thing
that interested me, along with learning the craft and working, and just being
in productions with people."
- Robin Williams
